40% off (an ecumenical offer)
(Western) Easter bonus: get a paid subscription at a discounted rate before March is out.
Easter is this weekend. Sort of. Except, not really, for me. Being raised in the Greek Orthodox faith, I’m used to celebrating Easter at least a week later than everyone else in the UK, due to our Church using the Julian rather than Gregorian calendar to calculate its date. This year, the gap is especially vast: Orthodox Easter is not until 5 May. With that sort of cultural baggage, how can I be expected to do anything on time by Western standards?
Despite operating in an East Mediterranean time warp, having a Roman Catholic partner requires me to take an ecumenical approach to this issue. According to our eldest child, that means my not repeatedly using air quotes whenever referring to (Western) Easter.
So, in a spirit more befitting the occasion, I’m offering 40% off on a 12-month paid subscription to the newsletter until the end of the week – that’s £2.10 a month, or £21 for a calendar year (or the equivalent in other currencies). Paid subscribers receive additional posts on a regular basis, and also make it possible for me to continue producing this newsletter, as a freelance writer. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
